Biography

Biography

Jamie Giunta was born in Chicago, Illinois. She completed her B.A. in Romance Languages (Portuguese and Spanish) from the University of Georgia, where she also was a Flagship Scholar and carried out her capstone year in Brazil. She completed her M.A. in Latin American Studies from Tulane University. In 2023, she was a Fulbright Research Scholar at the University of São Paulo. Her research interests include contemporary Lusophone literature and the intersections of Lusophone Cities, Urban Space, Migration Narratives, and Ethnicity and Race Studies. In her free time she enjoys weightlifting, traveling, and playing the violin.
