Biography
Biography
Ivo’s expertise is in Literature, Second Language Acquisition and Applied Linguistics. Born and raised in the Brazilian Amazon, he has interests in Indigenous narratives and representations of shamanism in Brazilian Literature with focus on ecocriticism and decolonial theory. Ivo has also taught Portuguese as a Fulbright FLTA at Yale University (2019 - 2020). He holds a B.A. in English from the Federal University of Pará (UFPA) and an M.A. in Romance Languages from the University of Georgia. He has extensive experience in teaching languages and has recently been involved in teaching English for environmental discussions to members of traditional communities of the Amazon.
